APRIL FOOLS' DAY

APRIL FOOLS’ DAY is celebrated on April 1st and  people play jokes on those around them.

Even the Media, the radio and the television, play jokes on their audiences.Some people also make funny phone calls.

The origin is uncertain:

 Some think it is related to the arrival of spring when Nature “fools” mankind with funny weather.

Meaning of fool: 

1- tonto, pardillo

2- engañar

Meaning of funny:

1- gracioso

2- extraño, cambiante (weather)

Some others think it has its origin in the change of calendar around the year 1582 when the Gregorian Calendar was established and the beginning of the year was  from then on celebrated on January 1st and not on or aroundApril 1st as many ancient cultures had been doing. Some people either refused to accept the new date or simply they did not learn about it and so the others began to make fun of them by tricking them into believing something false.
